my dad does that too what’s up with that was it once a term for marijuana or did people just confuse it with heroin when talking once and fuck it up for all old people or what
I read The Basketball Diaries when I was a kid (I don’t think my mother really checked what was in the book before giving it to me…) and every time Jim Carroll talked about shooting dope it confused the fuck out of me because any time I’d heard it used, it was referring to marijuana. Like, I could tell from the context that he must have been talking about something like heroin, but he may as well have been calling it weed for all the sense I could make of it.
