I’m trying to write a song on a synth and it’s not going well. I’m getting really frustrated because it’s been a really long time since I’ve written something that wasn’t a joke rap about being a shark or a valentines song about cats. Problem is, anytime I’ve ever tried to be “serious” it turns out to be really sad and kinda boring.
Plus I’ve not just sat down and written a “proper” song in a really long time. Maybe I should write something about constantly putting quotation marks around everything.
Also I genuinely have no idea what to do on synths. I’m as good with them as I am with guitars. Clumsy, lucky if I get them to work, etc.
WHHHHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEEE.
When we were eight or nine, Billy and I started a band with a friend of his. The songs consisted entirely of one of the demo tracks on Billy’s toy keyboard at various tempos, accompanied on the slide-whistle. And they were all about monkeys.
So, you know. At least whatever you come up with will be better than that?
